Drum Making Workshop

Have you always felt called to make your very own drum? 

Join us for this day-long workshop, featuring drum maker Zelda Hotaling who was raised in the Native American tradition of the Haudenosaunee. Her grandmother and other elders on the Kahnawaka Mohawk reservation in Canada were her first teachers, guiding her in the traditions and sacred ways of their people. 

Zelda will assist, as you birth a drum from start to finish. 

She shares: "Our connection to the sacred hoop is created, reminiscent of the womb, connecting Creator, Mother Earth and Drum Maker all walking together to unwrap the gifts that perhaps have been forgotten along the way.

Materials used in the making of the drums have been ethically sourced. Skins are not processed but harvested in a natural way. Participants will be guided in an intuitive manner whereby the appropriate animal skin (deer, elk, buffalo) will seek out you to help in your healing. I welcome each new creation into the world with the same joy and enthusiasm as a midwife, who places a newborn infant in the arms of the parent!"
