Inner Knowing

It's Monday, January 25th. This post is a bit longer than usual, with no photos (that's really two strikes, isn't it?) because of some really in-depth contemplation.

More than anything else, I encourage you (again!) to do the same: listen, contemplate, reflect, and question. Then, decide for yourself.

Like Buddha stated: "Better to be slapped with the truth, than kissed with a lie."

That's not the quote I meant! And... did Buddha ever really say that?

Apparently, he did not say the following, either:

Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.”

Both statements do resonate with me, though, and here is my perspective for today.

Love is why I AM here.

Truth, freedom, and empowerment are my goals.

I believe that knowledge is power, and that intentional manipulation of truth, freedom, and power for self-serving purposes will ultimately fail.

It is not easy to hold an awareness of the shadowy depths of what is going on within the collective right now and still maintain optimism. It requires awareness, trust, and action (in whichever form feels correct. For me, it's writing this blog and sharing information).
